Hello everyone, I am super new to backyard chicken keeping. I picked up 8 chicks at beginning of May, so they are just over 3 months now. I am thinking that unfortunately I may only have 2 hens out of the bunch, but there are a couple that I’m curious about, so if you can help that would be wonderful!
1. Buff Orpington- I think it may be a roo

2. Backyard mix. Has very small waddles and comb but long tail

3. This one I was told was an Ameracauna, has a tiny comb but big tail

1 and 2 are cockerels. 3 is an Easter Egger pullet.
Out of curiosity, what makes you say the second one is a cockerel? It appears to be a pullet in my opinion, as I see no pointed feathers that a male would have at this age, and there are also no sickle feathers. I believe the reddened face is due to the pullet being over three months old, meaning that in a few months she will be laying. Also, the legs are quite thin. If that is a cockerel, it would be very, very slow-maturing.

Mostly the comb and wattles, it’s still early for a pullet to be that red. Also I’m pretty sure I do see a couple pointy feathers if you zoom in but it’s hard to see.
