I know. The eternal question. This chick is a few days over 4 weeks old. S/he is an "Araucana" from Agway, so actually an Easter Egger... So! Male or female? Here are the pics:

It is very challenging to photograph living things... This little pullet (I hope pullet) has very pretty neck feathers. I am worried, though, that they look like rooster neck feathers. I have no idea. S/he also has a stick-up tail... s/he seems rather dominant too, and also larger. This is probably because she is a bit older... she had a few feathers when we got her, and the others only had fluff. I HOPE she is a pullet. We live in the middle of the city...
Thanks for your thoughts!

Looks like a pullet to me. My little rooster got pretty red in the comb right at four weeks of age. Yours looks peach colored in the comb, which usually means pullet.

I'm guessing girl with a muff. I just got three new Easter egger baby girls hatched last weekend and they all have fat cheeks which I'm hoping arre the beginnings of muffs.

Pullet!

I would say pullet as well. The roos usually have 3 straight rows of peas on their comb, vs pullets may have single or misaligned peas in their comb.
This was my roo EE at 4 weeks.
