Do both cockrels and pullets take dirt baths or enjoy the bath the same?
I have a mixture of 30 youngsters aprox. 2 1/2 months old. Both Bantams & standards EE, orp, legg, rir, barred rock, crest, sultan,
I'm having a difficult time with "Which ones are pullets or cockerls"
I can only keep 10-15 and want to make the best choice.
I can only keep pullets...
I placed a couple pans of fresh soil with them today and only 10 seemed to be having a blast. All the others were either lightly pecking at them or not interested.
Also, I read how the males will stand alert when there is a loud noise and the pullets will crouch down.
The same dirt rollers were cornered and snuggeled down while the others were errect and alert when the lawn crew came the first time to care for the lawn.
Can I assume these few are pullets?
I could share some pics.
