I'm pretty sure this cutie is an Ancona. But pullet or roo? Paige is 10/11 wks old now.
No roo sounds yet. But that comb/waddle color has me wondering. I don't understand the hind feather or round vs pointy feather thing others have spoken about. Let me know your opinion please...

Thanks! Hopefully more folks are up tonight and can chime in with a vote.
I'll wait for the sound to confirm before making any decisions.

im thinking rooster. Long saddle feathers that hang over like a rooster. pink/red wattles. Beautiful long legs. and looks like streamers coming in (sickle feathers. .AKA.. the longest tail feathers that hang down from the top on roosters)

hmm, i'm gonna go against the consensus and say hen. The comb/wattle are fairly big, but the saddle feathers are very round...mind you I have no idea with this breed lol

Any other opinions?
Both Anconas behave the same, the other pullet does not have this red of waddle/comb, but I read that the color designates maturity more than sex (as in ready to lay). I still don't understand the whole feather situation, I'll go google and see what saddle and all of those other terms mean. Thanks for looking!

Pullet, her comb will grow larger and eventually flop over like a leghorn's. Her body will become more rounded as she gets closer to laying age. Males of this breed, in my experience, have always been quick to mature and would have a much larger comb at 10 weeks.
