Pullet or Roo? Help!

Hi! I have a 5 wk old Lavender Wyandotte chick. I’m pretty sure I already know the answer, but is this little beauty a Roo or pullet?

Yes, at 5 weeks old, that is a cockerel. He is cute, but not sure about the breed and color, though. Looks more splash than lavender and Wyandottes have rose combs and yellow legs. Did you get the right bird?

Cockerel.
He doesn’t look like a Lavender Wyandotte. His legs and beak are the wrong color. He looks more splash than lavender.

Cockerel. Very pretty!

Cute cockerel. Single comb is a recessive trait, so can occasionally appear in Wyandottes (poor breeding?). I had two from a hatchery last year, along with four with normal combs for the breed.

Hi thanks all for the reply. I had ordered 5 different breeds online, and only this little guy hatched, but in the batch of eggs I got I had a BBS Maran, black copper maran, cream legbar, black Wyandotte & a lavender Wyandotte. So I bet you are all correct that he is a splash! Thanks again. I’m going to have to give this little cutie up really wish I didn’t have to (sooooo attached). Thanks again!

Leg color and comb type are wrong for a Wyandotte....I think he's most likely a mixed breed. And 100% cockerel.

Hmm. I'm not sure where you got the eggs, but I'll have to agree with Alex that he's probably a mixed breed. I'm sorry you can't keep him, I bet he's going to be a stunner!
