I have 3 Dominque pullets they are a little older than 2 months old about 2 1/2. and one of them has a different looking tail. it is more curved with smaller feathers coming out of it. and I've been looking at pictures and it looks kinda like a rooster tail. The others have straiter tail feathers that seem like only a few feathers. also, the wattle seems bigger. have any ideas? I can post a pic.

Here are some pics 1. is a pullet 2. close up on the pullet tail. 3. the possible roo?
4. close up on possible roo's tail. Differences? What do you think?

When I purchased my chicks, the hatchery told me that if the wings stretched to their backside it was a hen and that wings that were shorter, only about half way to their bottoms, was a roo so I'm curious to see the responses.

a good point will have to see if they develop. Someone told me its hard to tell at this age. I'll keep you all posted. I just notice that the tail has more feathers that droop down on the "roo" and the pullets have only a few straight feathers. Thanks for the feedback! I'll post more pictures if saddle feathers develope or a hackle.

I did notice that one of the chicks, when it was younger, had shorter wing feathers than the others! thanks for that advice.

The tail on the roo is getting more and more curved while the others stay straight. a sigh? ill send pic
