Bugger!Pullets normally do not red up on their comb anytime near 8 weeks old, so if it has a red comb by then, it's very safe to say it's a roo.
Had a mixed batch of chicks so it’s been a guessing game. I got rid of a heap that had more developed combs but obviously this one must be a different breed. Thought because it’s comb is shorter that it was more likely a hen but I am new to guess and I am obviously wrongHello!
Hmm… hard to say. To me the overall appearance looks similar to a pullet, but at that age, it would seem like the comb is too red and developed to not be a cockerel. I think it’s still too early to be 100% sure, but I’m leaning more towards cockerel. What breed is he/she?
