1) What type of bird , age and weight. BO 3-4 months
2) What is the behavior, exactly. She started walking kind of funny a few days ago. Tonight she moved away from the other hens, didn't roost, and huddles under a heat lamp I have for my little roo baby.
3) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. None that I can see
4) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. Nothing
5) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. Free range plus layer pellets and fresh water.
6) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. Can't see her poop. She made a horrid sounding poo sound but I didn't see anything that came out.
7) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? None
8 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? No vet-will administer what I can within reason, and if she is a threat to the flock, I may dispatch her.
9) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help. None.
10) Describe the housing/bedding in use. Coop with pine shavings and dirt floor-draft free but ventilated.
EDITED to say: I just freaked out that she might be contagous so I went out and isolated her. Her crop feels pretty full-similar to an old hen that recently had sour crop and died, though not as full. That hen staggared before I figured out what was wrong with her. Not sure if it's the same thing with this pullet, but could be.
