Pullet Stomping Feet! Well, What Could It Mean?

DH went out to feed dinner bits to the chooks. The Turkens are always vocal when you get up there, and they always want you to take them out and pet them or something

Anyway, my husband hears Padma, one of the Turkens, chortling at him. He looks over and she is standing there, stomping her feet over and over in place, like she's marching, making "bluthahbloopa kwoopa wacka skweeka" chortle noises.

Is she

A) practicing her routine for cheer squad

B) trying to shake an egg out of her vent

C) flirting with DH

D) auditioning for "Hawk Tease: Chicks Gone Wild"

E) begging for treats

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

i would vote for cheer team. does she yell, 'ready-okay!' a lot? what about cackling with her diaphram and not her throat? can she form a pyramid and do an illegal dismount? those would good clues.

oh, have you found any tiny cheerleader costumes under the nesting boxes...does she ask to rent 'Bring It On' a lot....hmmmm.....

We think she was trying to tell us she's ready to lay eggs. DH went and looked and there were TWO in there. Her first eggs!

My turkeys and guineas have acted really strange when they lay their first egg. I don't think they really know what's happening and they just "feel funny" and act funny. Mine didn't stomp, but they did do other strange stuff. Once they get into the egg-laying groove, they act normal again.
Well... maybe not the turkeys -- they are sneaky cheeks about their nests -- a lot of spy-type and "i'm going to lead you away from my nest with my attention-getting schemes so you can't find it" antics.
