One of our neighbors' chickens escaped and decided she liked our yard better. We kept encouraging back across the road to them, but once it grew dark, we discovered her roosting in our Azaleas. The neighbors said we could keep her and that she is a "Welsie"... at least that's what it sounded like. I tried Googling and "Welsummer" kept coming up. Is that what this is? We have all Rhode Island Reds. We moved her from our Azaleas to our coop after she fell asleep because we were worried about predators getting her overnight. In the morning she seemed a bit cold and intimidated by our big girls, so we put her in the brooder near but not with our Rhode Island Red chicks. Is she a Welsummer or something else? How old do you think she is? Any advice?
