Bantams (various) 5-6 weeks old. The black Cochin has been looking like a roo for a couple of weeks. Insight on the others. Thank you for your time and consideration!

I hate that no one bothers to respond on these boards, why bother to sign up? From what I have been reading and observing from pics, I'd say Eng and Chang are roos, since their combs are turning deep pink/red. The others look like pullets since the comb is still on the small/yellow side.

Unfortunately, I think we are on our own to figure it out, chick cliques even on message boards :yesss: I have the same, 3 bantam cochins, (1.5 and 2.5 weeks old) so I am counting down the days until I know as well!

Hi! Yes, Chang and Eng are both cockerels. Penny, the Seabright, is likely a cockerel as well. A week later I think that Harry Spotter (d’Uccle) and Big Johnny (bantam mix) are both pullets.

Oh nice! I zoomed into the last two to check out their combs. I'll keep an eye on mine to see if they change/look like theirs. If they happen to develop more, would you mind posting pics? Mine are just behind yours age wise.

Too bad about Penny, what a beautiful bird! Unless you can keep roosters. Mine will be house chickens, so i need to keep it mellow. Here is a pic of the 3 bantam cochins. I have two silkie chicks who are still trying to figure out how they got up to the perch! I'd like to have 3 total, so hopefully the roo numbers work out.
