Hi I'm very new to backyard chickens, a bit of history is I just moved from the city to a 5 acre property and found what I thought was a good deal on craigslist. A person wanting to sell a flock of 50 birds for $200, 3 adult roosters(they get along), 42 chickens and 5 baby chicks. My coop has 3 solid walls with vents all along the top and 1 open wall completely with an indoor space 140sq ft and an outdoor area thats 240sq ft that they have access to 24/7 predator proofed so a total of 380sq ft of living space along with free range of 5 acres 9am to 9pm every day.
I've had them now for 3 weeks and over the 3 weeks I've noticed scaley leg mites so I'm going to be treating them for that very soon with rubbing alcohol and brush, then coating legs with vasoline(one of the chickens has the leg mites so bad it appears to be damaging her legs and toes.) 25-30 of the chickens are pullets and not laying yet. They are free range birds from previous owner and I let them out of coop to free range after first week, all but 2 appear very active and healthy theres a chicken with severe scaly leg mites and one young sick pullet.

My real question is this young pullet, she appears to be 2-3 months old but from day one with me has looked very sick, after 3-4 days of research I decided to quarantine her and have been giving her lots of healthy snacks like fruits, veggies and meal worms along with a complete flock raiser but it doesn't seem to help, she won't roost or scratch(just 3 days ago I seen her scratch once for the first time for 2 seconds) she appeared to be doing better that day but today when I went to check on her she seemed very cold crouching in a corner shivering, I pick her up each day and put outside to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air but today seems to be the worst I've seen her its about noon and she has just started to walk around but not doing anything(kinda seems like she's look for a place to die like some dogs and cats in there last hours) she sleeps most of the day and has eyes closed very often but they're not swollen. This morning when I picked her up clear liquid fell out of her mouth a decent amount and some bubbles around her mouth after. I seen round worms in her poop a few days ago so I know she's struggling with multiple ailments I've researched about crops and it appears hers is working ok she was eating good and her poop seems mostly normal some liquid on some days but I've been giving a lot of watermelon, canalope, apples and blackberries from the garden which may have contributed to that. I've used a lot of raw garlic, turmeric, cayenne pepper and some AVC recently with her as well and just learned about probiotics and there benefits but I'm wondering if any of this will work. I just this morning ran across a forum on ascites but I'm not sure that is it, she is very under weight compared to other flock members that are exact same age and I don't feel any bloating in her abdomen but there are many other signals pointing me to ascites like clear liquid from her beak, loss of appetite, lethargy, labored breath(just started today that I can tell), fatigue and other signs I've read are the fact that to much corn can cause fatty liver problems and poor ventilation in coop once I read this it made me think of the previous owner, he fed the chickens 50% cracked corn and other 50%looked like wheat berries with very few sunflower seeds and his coop had very poor ventilation and didn't appear to be cleaned out often with a wooden floor so I know there was ammonia problems, also appeared much to small for that many birds. I have a noticeably much bigger coop at 140sq ft so all this might have led to ascites with this young pullet.
So the question is do I keep trying to help or euthanize?
I havnt tried probiotics yet because I've just recently read about them, does anyone have an idea if this pullet might survive if I try the probiotics and dewormer(might be to sick to deworm) any ideas would be greatly appreciated I don't like to see any creatures suffer and I'm starting to think that I might be prolonging her suffering.
Thank you for taking the time to read this thread any ideas and thoughts would be a big help and greatly appreciated.
