I’ve just noticed one of our young hens (hatched April 1st so 3 months old) has a deformed leg that she is limping on. We were in the coop sorting out the cockerels and I noticed she couldn’t get around too well. I like her and want to keep her. It hasn’t always been this way, none of them had this problem as chicks.

Any idea what it could be and if / how I can help fix it?

Thanks in advance

Looks like its in the knee joint and may even the hip too. I wonder if her hip is out of its socket. You may be able to brace the leg and correct it.

It looks like a leg bone deformity to me. It's possible it could be injury, a vet can take an xray to determine that.
If it's deformity that is showing up as she gets older/gains weight, there is not much that you can do for that, it may stabilize or it could get worse as she grows.

Thanks I’ll google chicken leg brace and see if I can come up with something. I’d like to try and correct it now before it gets any worse.

Will also get some vitamin b

Ok thank you. I’ll leave it be and hopefully she just survives with it. She gets up and down the ladder into the coop ok and it’s not like she’s a wild chicken having to run from predators. I hope she doesn’t get too bad as she’s a cutie and I’d like to keep her
