I may be wrong, but I wonder if it had a leg bone deformity, such as varus valgus deformity, or tibial dyschondroplasia (TD.) Slipped tendon is another common term. Those have a potential to cause a tendon rupture, as the chicken grows, causing lameness. It can occur on one leg or both. Google "leg bone deformities in poultry" for more information. If vet care is not available, I would try splinting with padding, vet wrap stips, and anything else needed.
