Pullet with prolapse.... First egg.

One is there anything we can give her to help with the pain?
Wife can feel the egg but can't work it out any way that she has tried. Any help would be most appreciated. This is a beloved pet....

Oh Larry, I'm sorry. Calcium citrate +D3 is even better (faster) if you have that on hand. She can swallow a whole one, just pop it in her beak. Other than that, I don't have any experience with prolapse like this. Stand by for the Educators.

I do know you need to keep it moist. Vaseline, Prep H, even honey will do.

Ma is going to soften up a Prep H into a liquid. Already coated her with vasolene.

I'd give 300 mg calcium citrate +D3 asap, one per day for a few days until she passes the egg. Once that's out, she should heal back up pretty quickly.

I wouldn't give anything for pain as that'll thin her blood. I know you want to but I just would keep her comfortable as you can.
