The Beautiful Smoky Mountains!
I have a 10 week old barred rock pullet who was fine this morning when I let the girls out of the coop. She came running out with the rest of them. We went to the store for about an hour and when we came home she was back inside the coop laying on the floor in a corner. I tried to shoo her out and she wouldn't move, so I picked her up and she didn't protest. I didn't think too much about it until I set her down outside. It was then that I noticed she wasn't using her foot. I picked her up to look at it and saw that it was really swollen. I cleaned the foot and could see no scabs or cuts of any kind. Upon closer inspection, I noticed a clear blister about the size of a pencil eraser on top of her foot. This is the only clue I could find on her foot. Is it possible she might have stepped on something or was stung by something? And if so, what can I do to help her? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. These are my first chickens. Thanks!

It sounds like some type of a sting. First, check and see if the stinger is still inside her foot. If it is, carefully remove it with tweezers (make sure they're clean). Can she stand at all and is she acting normal besides the let injury? After you get the stinger out or you see that it's not there, here are some things to try to relieve the swelling and pain:
Ice pack
Baking soda (mix with water to make a paste)
Salt (mix with water)
Apple Cider Vinegar (take a paper towel with the ACV on it and hold it on the sting)
Vinegar
Lemon Juice
Lemon Slice (hold it on the sting)
Garlic (smother sting in garlic)
Onion slice (hold it on the sting)
Cucumber slice (hold it on the sting)

Thanks PoultryGirly. My gut is telling me it's some type of sting although when I inspected her foot, I didn't find a stinger, but I'll take another look to be sure. She doesn't want to stand, but she did hop/limp to get out of the sun when I took her outside. Right now she's laying on the floor of the coop and sleeping. Some of the other girls have come in to keep her company :). Thank you for the great suggestions. I'll keep you posted!
