I've introduced 3 new chicks to the flock. The baby's are now 16 weeks and have been free ranging with the adults since 8 weeks. I've always separated the layers feed from the grower feed, though all chickens could technically access either. Recently all the pullets have been exclusively eating the layer feed and a couple layers have been eating *only* the grower feed.
This has been going on for about 3 days. I'm concerned that the health of the divergent chickens will be affected.
My solution is to remove all layer feed, leaving only grower for the entire flock for 4 weeks. Also, provide plenty of access to oyster shells.
Does this seem like a reasonable path?
