Pullets, hopefully...

i'm not the best at saying which breed a chook is, but the white one might be a white leghorn, or an ambur white and the other one might be like a speckled sussex,
im not really sure about any of that, but i hope this helps!

Would need better picture so we can see their combs. Leghorns have yellow legs, sussex have white legs. I can't really see the white chicks legs that well but they don't look yellow, so not a leghorn, was this chick a greyish color when it was just fuzz?

Don't know. They were both getting feathers by the time we first saw them. We'll try to get them some better pics. I think they are still nErvous about the new place and not really used to people being around.

Here are some close-ups and less-movement involved pics of our little spices.

SUGAR:

CINNAMON:

The relative size of Cinnamon's comb makes me worry about roosterdom, but if this one's a he, he lets Sugar do all the leading... which I'm not sure would be happening. Any thoughts?

In the past couple weeks, Cinnamon developed a nice red comb and wattles... so yeah, he's not going to be with us much longer--fortunately, we will soon be able to integrate these two with the other chicks I've gotten, so Sugar won't be alone. The others are several weeks younger, so we're looking for them to all be a bit closer in size to each other before we start trying to put them together...

Between that and finding out that one of our rabbits--who were supposed to be sisters--is a male... argh.

Well, BYCers, y'all were right. Cinnamon was a boy! The pictures I took of him last night, when he'd been caught and packed up to be rehomed at our preacher's house, don't do him justice. He really turned out to be a beautiful bird, and he was just getting protective of his hen--Sugar was the only one of the pullets he hung around, which was to be expected, since the 4 little ones were raised separately--and followed her around like her little puppy!

Sugar definitely seems to miss him, this morning, but from what I've seen so far this morning, she's going about her activities like she normally would.
