We have yet to get our coop finished. Our pullets and guineas are sleeping underneath their coop and free ranging all day. One chicken laid her first egg on the ground. The place was near the coop where all the birda walk and poop. How dangerous would eating that egg be? Is there egg cleaner? Can you tell I have never done this before??? The second hen actually flew up to the unfinished nest boxes and laid in there. How smart is she!!!

Eating the egg is fine. That shell is a natural bacteria barrier. Before cracking it to eat, just give it a quick wash, plain water should be fine, but you can use a little soap if you'd like.
