Pullets not using nesting boxes -?

Our 4 7-week old chicks have successfully transitioned outside to their little coop. However, we see that they are sitting on the perches, not going into the nesting boxes to sleep. Are they supposed to sleep in them? It seems it would be much softer (with pine shavings) and snugglier in the chilly night! Should we do something to encourage them into the boxes?
Thanks for any input (we're totally new to chickens).

Chickens roost to sleep. Nesting boxes are for laying eggs. They are doing exactly what they should be doing. That is great!

My pullets are older, and still don't have the hang of sleeping on the roosts.
