Hi I have a doz bcm chicks hatched 17 days ago. Some are growing tail feathers, some not. Is this a clew to there sex?

In SOME breeds... 100% it is an indicator of gender. Other breeds, not at all. So it depends on the breed.

Funny, I raise FBCM... and I can't remember... but with them... it's more often comb and waddles show very early most the time... in addition to shoulder/wing color showing early. I can identify at least most of the boys by 3-4 weeks.
