I have several pellets all the same age they are all 25 weeks 1 of them started laying just over a week ago and then one day I found 2,eggs so I thought 2 of them were laying but since then I only get one a ? They all have very big red combs and waddles and I have tried checking to see how many finger widths apart their pelvic bone are and a few of the are 3-fingers apart and the others are 2-fingers apart but only one is laying does any one koa why this is? They are not free range so I know they are not hiding them.

I am not sure why they are not laying, are you sure they are pullets? Also, what breed are they and what are you feeding them? Could they be going through a molt?

pullets begining to lay take some time before there system regulates to an egg a day.
Also depending on the breed, some are at best, 3 or 4 eggs a week.
All hens will take a day off ocasionally.
Do you have dummy eggs in you nest boxes to encourage them?
Are you certain they are not eating them?
What are you feeding them?

I have a golf ball in every nesting box. How do you know if they are eating them ?

I went and.watched my hens closely this morning one of them that's thought has been laying but can't find her eggs spent an hour laying in the nesting box and sung the egg song I looked as soon as she got out of the box and no egg!!!
She acts fine like she doesn't act sick or anything.Does anyone k ow why she is not laying?

My first layer had a week between her first and second egg. She also laid some soft shell and no shelled eggs. The chickens ate those. The only reason I knew it was that I found the membrane left a few times. The one with no shell I found them eating. It can take a while before they get on a schedule. They may be laying some soft or no shell eggs and eating them. Mine don't eat the regular eggs .

I bought 3 barred rock pullets from a private breeder last year.

They were hatched in early May 2017 and didn't start laying until mid December 2017 so they were 30 weeks old or so.

Be patient the eggs will start coming regularly..
