I have a hen (my first hen, so I'm not sure of a lot with her) she's a reasonably new addition. She was being picked on badly by her old flock and I took her to heal. She gets along well with my boys and I kept her. She was missing lots of feathers from the picking when she first got here, so for a while I just thought the feathers on her chest hadn't grown back yet. Even though she gets a high protein food and mealworms she's always eating feathers. Today I noticed that her chest looked worse and her neck is now missing feathers too. Her wings also look picked at. I've never seen her pull out her own feathers, but I know the boys aren't doing it. I have seen her eat feathers off my rooster. She could be doing it when she's inside at night. She has a two story hutch to herself at night that is cleaned daily. She gets lots treats and a good food. She drinks RO water. I'm not sure why she would be doing this. Trauma maybe? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Could you post any pictures? How old is she? Could she be molting? Have you looked her over for lice or mites on her skin? Feathers may not grow back until her next yearly molt. I would give her a little bit of egg or tuna for a little extra protein. Is her high protein feed a balanced chicken or gamebird feed?

When you say "my boys" do you mean roosters? How many roosters and how many hens do you have?
She's my only hen. I have 1 very small rooster and 2 Pekin ducks. The ducks have no interest in her and the rooster is very sweet. I've never seen him peck at her at all.

I'll get some pictures. It's possible it's molting I suppose. I'll give her a good check for mites and give her some more protein. She's been eating feather fixer. Thanks.
