I can't stand sitting in the garden pulling weeds out one by one. Last time I did it I got about 1/3 of garden area 1 done and that night my arms, hands, and legs ached like crazy. So this morning I used one of those garden claws. I got the same amount done in garden area 2 in less than half the time. But my back, shoulder, and legs ache (a bit less than the arms and hands did from before) since I don't have the upper body strength a man does. All in all I'll stick with the garden claw but weeding still sucks no matter how you do it. I do love my veggies so I'll deal with it!!!

I've got 4 gardens going right now. I spend ALOT of time weeding.
I just keep my eye on the prize, watermelon wine.

we picked our first zucchini yesterday.

What is your tool of choice for weeding?

i know the solution to this one!! get a man to do it for you. a cold beer, a wink and a sexy smile will get you everywhere! at least that's how i think i got where i am....

I know, I know. But really my hubby keeps an impeccable yard and is always doing a project for me or with me. So I try to do as much of the weeding as I can myself.

I have been much happier to weed since I have had chickens. I fill a 5 gal. bucket with weeds & throw it in the run!

look at it this way

you get to be outside in the sun, you get to be in your garden and what you're doing is for the better of your plants

the chickens like the weeds, too!

Hehehe I told my hubby I gotta get one of those spaghetti strap tank tops to wear when I'm weeding. I don't mind ghetto bra straps showing in the back yard.

It's the after the weeding aches that stink. But I do love the yield. We've got some baby tomatoes growing as well as yellow squash. I think there's a baby pepper too.

Last year I had a failed attempt at cucumbers. I've got to try them again next year.

i had a big cucumber FAIL last year to. our peas do really well though. we only just got our garden situated. here in Alaska, or at least this region, we have to wait until it's warm enough.
