Pulling Weeds Sucks!!!!

I hate pulling weeds, too. Sorry, I know how grateful I should be about the weather and the plants etc, but it is SOOOOOOOO boring and dirty.

The only thing I like less is housework!!! I would much rather be here talking about weeds than pulling them!!

Got tired of weeding the garden many years ago, so now we take all of our grass clippings and cover the garden around all plants. Keeps the weeds down and those that do poke through are easy to pull since the dirt is not hard. This year also put newspaper down between the green bean rows and then placed the grass clippings on top. This I am hoping will help with the weeds.

I have a bad back. I learned years ago to use raised beds. Weeding is minimal. I put wood shaving in between. I can plant anything with my bare hands. In fact I was putting in squash and tomato plants at 5:30 this morning.
Go to the Home Depot and buy cull lumber 2x6 or bigger. They make a nice 4x4 bed. I have 4x4x6,8,10 or 12. Whatever I can find. No pressure treated tho.
Makes it easy to water and weed if necessary. Keeps water waste to a minimum. Try it you'll like it.

My weeds are out of control too-my motivation is that I feed them to the chickens! They love them!
