Puma in my area~ west Tennessee

There have been sightings of lion in Missouri and the Missouri Dept. of Conservation always blows it off as a "city slicker" seeing a coyote or bobcat.

They did they same thing with black bear here in the St Louis Metro area until locals had the local tv stations broadcast the bears they video taped eating out of their bird feeders. They couldn't deny it past that evidence.

Conservation depts like to deny these sightings as they don't want people hunting them down.

* tntstanifer, that was way too funny!

I haven't seen one personally, but one night while visiting my mom in Humboldt, I was sitting on the front porch in the fog and "felt" SOMETHING watching me! We KNOW they have mountain lions there for a fact, so I just acted casual and got my hiney in the house. Never felt like that before or since.

Read this post yesterday, go home last night turn on the news and what is the first story I hear.
"mountain lion attacks horse in Jefferson County"
This county borders the county I live in.
By the way the horse survived.

Hey TN, Last year, a KY state trooper in Livingston County, KY killed a Puma. He had it in the trunk of his cruiser. He showed it my brother in laws whom work for the Murray/Calloway county fire department. I think, one of them said he was taking it to the MSU veterinary dept. We have had other sightings.

Wouldn't it get interesting if one of our "non-existent" mountain lions attacked one of our "experts" in denial.........I'm not wishing for anything truly bad to happen, but it might prove interesting trying to explain it.........."I can't be 100% certain it was a mountain lion that jumped me.....it could have been a feral cat or a bunny..." riiiiight.
