just won some PH eggs on ebay. They are beautiful birds. I am hoping (

) that I will not get any that are too aggressive as I like the looks and not necessarily their "gameyness" If it dosen't work out, well, I'll be selling them on here.

Anyone have these? Experience?

Give me a few months and we'll see what we can do...

Really though, the coloring on them are awesome. AND, they are very rare in my area. AND, I got the eggs for a decent price. AND, I've seen chicks sell for as high as $30 each!

I can be hopeful.

I have a beautiful pair from Greenfire Farms. They are fairly tame but not really "gamey" at all, which is a bad thing to serious gamefowl breeders but I just have them just to have them really and its not a big issue to me. I really like mine .

I know that "pets" is not their original purpose but the colors are really stunning. And, I bet no one at the local fair will be showing them. Ribbons here we come.

I just realized, are they supposed to be dubbed?

Most shows don't have a class for American Game.
Yes the roosters will have to be dubbed to show them and I might be wrong but I think you will also have to dub the hens also.

just the roosters. to my knowledge there isn't an official style to dub them in yet, but most cut the comb as close as possible to stay with tradition. according to the AGFS standard hens with white earlobes may have the earlobes trimmed, but that's all that is required.

To me, most games, espeically Americans, look far better with a clean flat dub anyway weather they are being shown or just yard birds. I dubbed mine. I dont like the partial dub like the Old English have to be shown with though, I like a flat clean dub or none at all, but I know thats the requirements of the OEs
