My chicks are 8.5 weeks old . When can I start feeding them the tasty treat of pumpkins?

I think they are old enough now. Do they have access to grit? What are you feeding, including other treats?

Treats are okay as long as they have grit available to them as a free choice.

I have a sand bed, dirt, I'm feeding them stater/growing feed and I will throw in herbs Rosemary, thyme, Oregano,Basil, mint, lavender, hibiscus. Also I have gave them veggies: grape tomatoes, cauliflower, Broccoli, celery, carrots, radishes, red bell peppers, cucumbers, asparagus , and Grasshoppers

Wow, lucky chicks!

I think I would put out grit as well, just to be sure they have it. Also, I read, but don't know from experience, that asparagus can give eggs and "off" taste, so you may want to omit that when they start laying.

I give my chickens butternut squash, and they like the stringy goop and seeds better than the flesh of the squash. So far, I've given them reject squash. When we get to the good ones, they will have to share the seeds with me. But they can have all the goop.
