Pup crying

Your little baby certainly misses its siblings. Do not give in to the crying or you will soon be well trained to respond to her crying!

She will get over it but adding a stuffed animal is good, I also recommend a radio left on so she can hear "noise", they also make cd's with piano music that has been proven to relax dogs. The cd is called Through a Dog's Ear I think or similar.

Also, when leaving her try stuffing a Kong toy or similar with some yummy bits of food/treats and peanut butter, you can freeze them to make it harder to get out. If she is busy she won't notice and then work the toy and be ready to go to sleep.

Lastly, a tired dog is a good dog, poop her out with exercise before bed!

Hope it all goes well.

Try taking an old sweat shirt and rub it all over the mama - thats the pups to keep and do with as it pleases.... We tell all new parents of our pups to bring an old sweat shirt - towel etc to rub on the mama. It reassures as the pup can smell mama.

She gets to come out. She has to go in the pen when I can't watch her. She tends to get herself in trouble unless someone is there keeping her from hurting herself or one of the other critters in this house. She really like to chew on my old man schnauzer. He tolerates her but gets really grumbly with her.

When you say you only have one puppy left - did you have a littler and you sold the others? Do you plan to keep this one? Do you have the mother?

Dogs are highly social pack animals. She is lonely as all heck. Dogs do best with at least one other dog. She needs a friend. Unless she can be with people 24 hours a day, she'll be a much happier girl if she can have another canine friend... or maybe even a cat or a goat or horse or even a chicken... I have seen dogs make friends with all kinds of animals. They are just social. Get her a friend!

We did have a whole litter. Thankfully she is going to her new home tonight. Her new mommy is friends with her sister's new mommy. They will get to see each other sometimes.
