My chicken has been sick since 6/21, she's been vetted ? of sickness,antibiotic/cortisone given. I brought her home feeding with dropper and she's still hanging on. She can't even stand up but is still alive. When she hears my voice perks a little, very little. Anyway didn't want to end her life if she's still fighting. I just noticed in the overhead kitchen light her eyes dilate then pinpoint, dilate then pinpoint. I don't do anything they do it by themselves, I don't darken anything or lighten anything. Is this neurologic damage do you think? Has anyone ever heard of this.

Not necessarily. Chickens have complicated vision- is she inside under an artificial light source? Are you moving around in the course of your time with her? Have you observed her flock mates' eyes in normal lighting? My hens have had their eyes do the "dialing" you described and it's usually when they are in a dark or artificially lit environment and I'm moving (or moving things) near them.

Thanks TeamChaos, I have not noticed with her mate he's healthy and living in his coop. Abbey has been in my house since 6/25 very sick. Have to force feed her everyday, makes no noise, she doesn't eat enough to poo. But the poo she had last was fine. Vets find nothing except its obvious she very sick. I think I'll take her back in to be put down. You know the whole quality of life thing. I just felt that if she was fighting so would I'm just torn, if she was going to die she should have already. Thank you for the response.
