Puppies Abandoned - Help?!

If she was doing well with the pups initially, but now is having pain (mastitis, etc) when they nurse, she may be associating the pups with pain? I've never bred dogs, so I have no idea if that is a possibility, it is just a thought. Regardless, try to understand that she has a different thought process than you or I. She is not intentionally being cruel, even though we may read it as such. Don't let this drive a wedge in your relationship. She sounds like a good dog and a gentle friend. Reactions like this can take us all the more by surprise in a normally placid creature. You are making a good move in spaying her.

. Good luck with the pups! Photos are a requirement. ;-)

Oh, I still think she's a good dog. She's just not a good momma dog. Lol

They told me her milk would dry up, but to keep an eye on her progress. I went out again with treats and tried to get her to let the pups nurse and she's just not having anything to do with it.
