I solved that problem by getting a top entry covered litter box. The cats can get in but it keeps the dogs out. At least so far.Most puppies will eat anything that doesn't move faster than they do.. shoe's, purses, chicken feed, cat poo, etc.. my shitzu who's around 12 yrs old now thinks that the cat box is her personal tootie's roll stash.. can't close the door cause the cats need in, so if you don't keep her on a leash or keep a eye on her, she's in the box.. I had one of those auto cleans, the cat liked watching the rake go back and forth and burned out the motor by setting it off all the time.
