I have a chicken that was used as a toy from one of my foster puppies that escaped the kennel, he must have pulled it through the fence as it was walking by. It seems whole and really no feather damage, but it looks like their is a puncture right through her left ear. I put peroxide on it and vasoline to cover it up. Its been two days and she is eating driking and mostly hanging out with the group but she keeps her feathers puffed up and lays down alot. She is about 6 weeks old. Can anyone tell me if I shuld be concerned? Thanks so much, Katie
At least she's in a better place now. I'm no expert, but make sure she keeps on eating and drinking. It's usually not good when a chicken lays down all the time and her featehrs are puffed up, but let's just hope she's just tired. Make sure there are no other wound marks on her. It is a good sign that she's eating and drinking though. Hang on to that piece of hope. Best of luck. Sorry, I'm not an expert. I wish I could help you more.
