Puppy Name Suggestions

I thought Shar Pei mix as soon as I saw her but the owner said the parents are (mom) lab/pit & (dad) pit/shepard..... I am thinking there was a sneaky neighbor dog though because neither of the parents look to have ANY Shar Pei in them & 3 of the 4 puppies left looked like mine(wrinkly fat heads).

She will be home soon and of course my little Chi had to go and develop a weird spot between her eyes yesterday, i thgouth it was an allergic reaction to begin with and gave her some benadryl but it's still there this morning and i am now realizing it's very Ringworm-looking!!

. So the medicine will be getting here the same time as the new puppy

The little turd hardly goes outside, especially with all the ice we've got right now so i have no idea how she got it. And the Vet's office is still otu of power from the storm so it'll be a few days probably before i can take her in to get her skin scraped for a definite diagnosis.

I think you are right about the sneaky neighbor's dog. That pup's face looks VERY Shar Pei to me. Ear set, the eye shape, the space between the eyes, the muzzle shape, the wrinkles, everything!! She is very, very cute, whatever she is.

SUCH a cute puppy!

We might not be the best to suggest names. I have three dogs named: Cookie, Milk, & Muffin. (Muffin is 105 lb mastador) and a puppy on the way we are going to call Scrapple. :)

If the parents are the dogs in the pic, I can see where there may be some pei in the tan one. Pup is cute. I rather like Della too. Sharpeis are supposed to have a Hippo face, so you could call her Hippo..

Re the ringworm, I wouldnt bother with vet stuff, nor scraping. Get some athletes foot cream and put it on there. Leave it at that unless it spreads. The ringworm culture takes two weeks to get back, during which you will be treating as if it were positive anyway.

This is very right, it's the same as athletes foot, and the meds. the vet would give you will have the same stuff in it.

My mothers dog had a spot on his leg about a month ago and i told her to go buy Clotramizole(jock itch med), his went away right away. I ended up buying a bottle of Iodine to treat Izzy though because my fathers gf's dog has it BAD... she wouldn't listen to me a week ago when i said it looked like ringworm so now it's got staph in it and she had to get antibiotics from the vet to go along with the iodine washes. I was already doing what i needed to be when we took them to the vet though so Izzy didn't need anything else.... I did wash all the bedding and vaccum like a maniac yesterday though, before the puppy got here!!

I went with the Iodine because i was bringing the puppy home and it was stronger than the cream and i wanted to KILL the spores asap, lol. it stops being contagious after about 48hrs but the iodine i used was a little stronger than normal and her skin really dried up about and hour after i applied it.

We named the new girl Kara :)
She was growling at everyone(dogs) when she got home so della didn't fit and she just doesn't look like a brandy... she's kind of a dorky little thing too :p
