Hi -
My husband is thinking of raising Coturnix quail, but we could use some help in finding people in Massachusetts who sell them. Can anyone help?
Best, Linda

Last year, I purchased 100 Coturnix eggs off of ebay and had good hatch results - 88 out of 100.
I also bought 100 BobWhite eggs and had 90 hatch .... I turned these birds loose in my back yard
hoping to re-establish the BobWhite population in my woods here.
That was a LOT of hungry little mouths to feed !!
Unfortunately, some died of natural causes and wound up with 75 or so Coturnix adults.
I sold these for $4.00 each and ate some.
Now, my next batch will be the California Valley Quail just because I think they are so cool looking.

So, if you want an economic entry level into the biz, hatching your own eggs would definately
be the ticket.

Just do all your homework first .... what size brooder, what size pens, etc etc and have ALL that
in place PRIOR to getting any birds. LOL it is hard to build pens with your birds in cardboard boxes.

Good Luck !!

Thank you for responding. We were not sure if purchasing by mail and shipping into Mass was ok to do or to go straight to the "farm". We appreciate your advice.
