Pure breds & Crosses - Questions

Hi all -

Not sure I'm posting this question in the right place, but here goes:

I've been growing out a few different pure breed chicks with my flock of pet quality silkies. If I leave them together til spring before separating them out by breed, how long would I have to wait til I could be sure their offspring would be pure, and not silkie crosses?

A month, although newer sperm is "stronger" and you could probably go two or three weeks. Any crosses would not have silkie feathers, and so would be easily distinguishable.
