I thought I'd start a new thread as I'm new to the duck owners club - I have a khaki Campbell and a pekin who are 14 weeks old. I find them hilariously entertaining and just wanted to share some stories and hear what other ducks get up to! Does anyone else's duck have a habit of sitting like this?

My ducks love to look in the cuffs of my coveralls for meal worms.I don't intentionally keep them there ;) .

I usually dump a handful or two in their swimming pool when I move them into their day pen. One day i fumbled the a brand new bag and worms went everywhere.

They gorged on about two pounds of meal worms that morning. I think they thought it was the best.day.ever!

Then during our supervised free range time they discovered that i had about a handful of meal worms in my coverall cuffs. Ever since then they check my cuffs daily for surprise! worms.

Hahaha! Oh mealworms!!! That's like Christmas for the ducks isn't it! They're not silly animals are they! My two know that I keep their food in the outhouse where all my garden stuff is so as soon as they see the key in my hand they chase me expecting food!

Well he certainly won't stuff his head THERE (although if he weren't so short maybe he would), but Wobbles loves to shove his bill between my fingers. I dunno why, it just relaxes him.

Aren't ducks the best? They're just so silly and full of personality!

Ducks are the BEST! They each have their own characteristics and habits. :) They are just plain fun and worth every moment we spend caring for them.

I have so many ducks now but I am finding it difficult to sort them all out. Some do not seem to be what they are supposed to be. Mixed breeds I guess but I love them all just the same.

Wobbles is an amazing name!! I think it's a comfort thing maybe? Bertie really relaxes if she can rest her beak on my hand or shoulder or, well, anything really!!
They are actually the best animals!! I can lose hours sitting and watching them!

Watching ducks is a great passtime. That is why I had our pond dug right in the front yard! Now we sit outside for hours each day just watching them and studying them. They are funny, they are also capracious at times, and we even have 2 bullies. They are rather predictable but I just love to see the Khaki campbell go after the 3 teenagers. The 3 teens are my 3 month old chinese geese. The "terrible threes" actually. LOL It is alot of fun and none of them are ever hurt but we do hear a ton of complaining.

Hehe, yeah. Drakes are jerks. I can't even imagine what a buncha teenage male geese would be like...well, other than terrifying.

They are so funny! And out of all my ducks and geese, the geese are the ones that interact with me all the time. They come right up to the balcony screaming to be fed and they are the first ones to sound the alarm when this is trouble within the 3 tribes. LOL Geese are awesome! They come up to me and I sit down in the grass and chat with them.. they answer every time I quack something. LOL wonder what I am saying to them?

I love each of their personalities, they are all unique! Peeper is really the best, funniest duck we have. I don't know what I would do if something happened to him. His favorite thing is to be held chest to chest, so he can nuzzle around my neck under my hair. He usually pokes his bill through my hair to make sure no one will surprise him from behind. I should take a picture of our daily cuddle with his KC brother. GingerSnap climbs on my lap and plops down for a head rub. Peeper then hops on my thigh to make sure I'm doing it right. They will stay like that as long as I will let them. Silly boys!

My other favorite thing is when they find a snail. It reminds me of kids playing football. They will all run around chasing the duck with the snail, and when it is dropped, one snatches it up and starts running. This continues until someone manages to swallow the snail.
