They are not Rocks. Rocks have yellow legs.

They are not Dominiques. Doms have rose combs and yellow legs.

Likely they are cuckoo Marans that have not been selected for egg color. However the cuckoo/barring gene is quite dominant so a cross (cuckoo/barred male x black hen) cannot be completely ruled out.

I think dark eggs really depend on the line, if they haven’t been bred for egg colour, then I wouldn’t expect chocolate coloured eggs
