Pure red legged Partridges?

I am getting redlegs in the near future I hope(next spring unless someone drops out of an order within the next few months then I get them this year).

I just wanted to know if they are the same in terms of care as chukars? I have kept chukars for several years quite successfully.

The red legged seem so much prettier but alas more difficult to find the pure form. Why is that?

The Chukar Redleg hybrids are hardier than the pure redlegs. The pure redlegs that breeders get are not very hardy so they have to keep they few that they do raise for their breeding stock on the hybrids. Our breeder actually imports pure redlegs from France. They will only take orders of Pure Redlegs in lots of 500.

These chicks actually are hard to raise. These are not for the first timers. Please check with someone that has raised them before.
