I would love to pick the brains of genetic pros out there.

I have a CCL hen in with a Lavender Cuckoo Ameraucana roo and I've had quite a few offspring from this match.
This spring I ended up with two that are pure white. One Pullet and one Cockerel.
So, they both carry double blue egg genes,
They both have muffs and they are both Crested...

Questions:, would these traits be repeated in their offspring if I were to breed the pair?
Would it have been an inhibitor that caused the white? or a recessive gene?
Because these are not PB, would they likely be a better producer of eggs?

I'm intrigued with these. Here's a couple of snaps.

Both parents carried 1 copy of recessive white . CCL throw white sports and there are some lavender Ameraucana that produce some whites .So yes they will breed true for white . The crest and beard will vary as they only have 1 copy of each of those genes .

Thanks Jerry. I guess had I thought it through a little better I'd have come up with that about the crest and the beard. I think I might see what I can do with these. See how they lay, how early they start etc.

Being a mix they should lay well . In Ameraucana my favorite way to increase egg laying is to mix it up a little . White is a easy color to do this with . I can stay within the breed and increase egg production . Other colors are harder to find compatible colors . The black based verities are fairly easy as there are BBS , lavender and the cuckoo projects . It is a balancing act to produce show quality and production .
