Duckies!
Anyone know how you would go about pure-breeding ducks if you don’t have 2 of the kind you want? I’m wanting to sometime down the road breed to make a Crested Rouen or Mallard, and another breed to be a crested Cayuga. I know I can’t mix a Rouen with a crested Pekin, because those mixes look different, almost like an inverted black Swedish. No one sells crested mallards/ Rouens so I’m wondering how I could make my own as close as possible to the real deal.
before you go asking me what breeds I have, I don’t have any currently, but I’m getting my next batch in March, which will include 2 Cayugas, 2 Mallards and/or 2 Rouens, one Crested Pekin which will be male, 2 Khaki Campbells, 1 Buff Orp, 1 Black Swedish and 1 Welshy. I only know that I want the crested Pekin to be male.
