Even though it has a coccidiostat in it are the eggs produced off of that feed still edible? I asked a Purina Feed Specialist and they said it was okay to eat the meat and eggs because there is no withdrawl what do you think?

Usually, you stop chick feed before the chickens are old enough to lay eggs. I would probably avoid eating a chicken or egg that was on medicated feed. But after one or two weeks on non-medicated feed, everything should be flushed out.

"Flock Raiser" is not a starter feed.
It's a 20% protien feed​

There is Flock Raiser that is medicated, and Flock Raiser that isnt. I get the Flock Raiser that isnt. Which doesnt answer your question, but I was concerned when you said your Flock Raiser had a coccidiostat in it. I went out and checked mine, and it doesnt. I use it for all my birds, except young chicks.

OK, but chickens, whether raised on medicated feed or not, are immune to cocchidosis by the time they are laying eggs. So, feeding a medicated feed past 20 weeks, at most, is a waste of money (if it is more expensive, sometimes it is cheaper). Either way, I would simply switch feed. But, in this litigious age, if the Purina guy is saying it is ok to eat, it must be ok.​

That is interesting. I have never seen medicated Flock Raiser here locally. I will have to check now and see, but I have never noticed a medicated version.

I called the feed maker of a feed i was using with the coccsidiant.. amp adp or something like that and they said you can eat a bird who was on that feed it was safe, no wait time. The reason I called was one of my Chuckers died when it got its leg tore off by a dog and I wanted to see what it tasted like, but it was still on half mix of the feed with the medication.... so even thought it was safe and I was assured of that... I still felt funny eating it..I am alive... This is just my opinion... but I would wait a week or two in the future regardless

The thing is that it says it not medicated but I email the pourina people and they said it had amprol in it which they said was coccidiostat
