Purina Medicated Start & Grow?

Personally I have a problem with feeding any animal medicated feed. I refuse to buy my chick starter at TSC and they know it too. I travel 35 miles away and buy unmedicated chick starter made by Purina. There is no reason to jam medicated feed down any animals throat if there is nothing wrong with them.

It would be like taking medications for diseases that you MAY get some day.

Getting off my soap box before I get myself in trouble. LOL

You were told incorrect information. The medication that is harmful to ducks is no longer used. Medicated Purina start and grow is fine whether fed to ducks or chickens.

Medicated chick starter.????..is this whats making my Rat Terrier deathly ill?...the vets can't find anything wrong with her..vomiting and dark watery stool...(I know..to graphic) but this is the pattern thats finally emerging after 4 seasons with the chick boxs at the house...and a garbage gut Ratty who eats everything...I was looking for the tag to my last bag to see what the medication is in it...and start googleing...Im at my witts end!!! ....... Please give me some actual data...not your "thoughts". There is plenty of data showing medicated feeds are OK...BTW...the medication isn't an antibiotic.

No, doesn't make any sense....how is the mode of action of amprolium like an antibiotic? What does amprolium do and what do antibiotics do?

Guess, having a PhD in waterfowl biology means I have never read a book on ducks....what book have you read...even Storey's guide says medicated feeds are fine.

I asked for data...guess you have non.
