So, I had a bad case of not thinking through all my plans before starting.
I built a Purina Mills coop, with a few modifications. I was planning for either a paddock system or a tractor. My husband is afraid it's too heavy to easily make it a tractor. (Our yard is slightly sloped, so most of the pushing would be slightly uphill). Should I give up on the tractor idea?
My alternate plan was a paddock, but I didn't build the coop to easily fit my paddock plan. I want the paddock run to be 4 ft tall and covered and moveable, so that I move the fence to one side of the coop each week. But if I attach it to the door side, then I won't be able to open the door, since the paddock fence is 4 ft tall. I could build a tunnel and have the paddock be completely detached I guess.
I'm just frustrated that I didn't think through all these problems and have created a lot more work for myself. Any suggestions?

One possibility (when they are older and if they are standard sized chickens) is an electric poultry fence. Those are made to be moved around so you could shift the "run" area to fresh grass and keep the coop where you put it.

For young birds a net over the top would be needed to protect against hawks/owls and fly away chicks. I have an electric fence for mine so I can move their run and give them fresh grass needed, I have to string poultry net though at least until they are full grown.
