Just wondering, the " Sunfresh Recipe" should be fed until what age? and then from there? I'm getting too many different answers. To my understanding chick starter should only be fed up until six weeks but I was told I can feed it to my pullets until 20 wk (laying age) Someone clear the confusion please?

I feed this exclusively to chicks all the way up to layers and meat birds with oyster shells

I also feed this to peacocks, geese, guineas and my dogs even like to eat it.

My birds are all totally freeranged never cooped.

if it works for you it should work for me (I hope) lol

According to my book "Chickens for Dummies" , starter rations should be 20% protein until you begin layer rations (18% protein) that is fed from 6-14 weeks. At 15 weeks it's "ideal" to lower the ration to 16% protein with "developer or finishing" pullet rations. At 22 weeks of age, begin using leyer food with a protein level of 16%-18% . This is for layers not meat birds. Hope this helps.

There are several "Sunfresh Recipies". Purina's recommendations are Start and Grow from Hatch to 18-20 weeks, Layena for layers over 16 weeks, and Scratch grains for adults over 18-20 weeks.
