I'm so sorry for your loss. It does sounds like heart failure to me. This is more common in large fowl birds and sometimes due to genetic heart defects. In most cases there is nothing you can do.

I'm so sorry for your loss of your first hen. I think it hurts regardless but the first one was the hardest to me.

As I said on your prior post I had a Red Star hen that did the same thing. I took her to the vet and she was loaded with fluid in her abdomen. The vet drained her and didn't give her a good prognosis. She said it was either Respiratory or Heart related. Well within 2 days she was gone.

I am so sorry but this does happen and more than likely it isn't a disease it prob was her heart or respiratory. She wasn't my first loss though but it was still sad.
