Purple comb

Both of my white leghorns have red combs that are turning purple on the ends. I live in Southern California where it's near 100 degrees today and about 95 yesterday, so it is'nt because of the cold. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Yes.
This may indicate physiological stress from the heat or other problem. Sometimes it indicates circulatory trouble from heart issues.
If you haven't already, add fans to cool their bodies, lots of cold water, shady areas, cold fruit like watermelon, electrolytes (such as Durvets poultry V&E from feed store).
See if the diet is good. Make sure no bugs. Have they been wormed?
How are they acting? Eating and drinking okay? Poop okay?

Thanks. Everything seems normal. They seemed fine last year with the heat. They haven't been wormed. What does that involve?

For pain from an injury, when there is little or no bleeding, you can give aspirin in their water.

FIVE 325 mg aspirin (NO SUBSTITUTES) crushed into one gallon of water.

Any chance they were attacked? If so, check closely for other injuries - feathers can mask a lot. Hopefully the limp is just from a small wrong step and healing will occur soon.

We have been having 95+ degree weather and my roosters com chanes all throughout the day. The tips of his comb turn purple/blue sometimes and other times it is normal. Unless it stays this way for days I would not worry about it.
