Purple cone flower safe for chickens?

I've done searches but can't find an answer. Does anyone know if Purple cone flowers (echinecea-sp?) would be sfae to plant around a chicken run?

Thanks!! It says they are non nontoxic-yay!!!-they have some really pretty new colors out now that I want to buy! Plus they grow really well here! Its quite a challange growing things here sometimes
