PurpleChicken's and Perfectly_Polish's Chicken plucker- idea's needed!

I had to watch that video a few times. It looked like that chicken came back to life.
I don't think they scalded it either.

Nope, doesn't look like they scalded it at all. And it looks like it did a better job then the whizbang.

$350 shipped. I am so broke. Hmmmm. Let me think about it.

I was reading on the Wizbang Yahoo group how people rent out their
pluckers for $50 a day. Maybe we can get it to pay for itself.

Well since we are all going to be using it, I think it would fair if we all pitched in. It wouldn't be right if you bought and paid for it.

Maybe we could make a few of the drill kinds and one out of the washing machine and/or dryer for the same price or cheaper

I have a friend that needs to process about twenty cornish in about two weeks. She thought we'd have this local processor to rely on, but he has been unreachable. I bet she and the BYC member from Rhode Island would be reliable renters!

BTW my friend with the twenty so cornish has a farm. She may be interested in taking some range boilers from either of you if the 22 is too much.

You can rent pluckers from processors? I think there's a processor in Salem, maybe they have one we could rent? The member here from RI did the scalding method, I don't think she has a plucker.

Well it would defiantly pay for itself. We have over 100 birds to do, and it's probably take 3-4 days atleast to finish and clean every one of them. But will we be using it again after that? Maybe we should start thinking about next years meat bird order

He doesn't work there anymore, but maybe if we can get a hold of him, we can ask what kind of equipment he used and see if any is available.
