Purring or Growling?

    I am not sure which I heard coming from Polly, she was sitting on the nest box and made a sound but I am not sure which it was. I do not hear very well but it was cute anyways.

    I had an Old English Bantam roo who purred...he always seem to enjoy himself doing this....

    I have RIRs and at night when I go in the coop to shut their little door it sounds like a bunch of conent kittens with all the purring [​IMG] I love the sound of it, sounds very content [​IMG]

    They will purr and growl depending on their mood. A hen on a nest that doesn't want to be disturbed will growl at you in warning. Careful when they do that because sometimes they will peck you if you get your hand in there. LOL

    I have a showgirl sitting right now and she makes a purring sound, actually it's more like a short purp, purp.
